WOW, I can't believe I just found this! It has been a long time since I have posted anything on this blog, and seeing a picture a friend posted on FB prompted me to look for this blog that I had forgot about until now. I can't believe how my life has changed since I wrote in this blog. Reading many posts brought tears to my eyes! I can't believe how my children have changed. Maybe, I can start blogging again now that I am done with my Master's degree..... It would be nice to capture the precious moments that can be so easily overlooked!

A While.....

Well, it has been a long time since I have blogged on here and there have been so many kid memories that should be listed here. Somewhere along the line, I have lost my focus of documenting the little things in life that the kids do. It is amazing how much the learn from us, and how much we learn from them!

Earlier this evening, Lauren and Ryan were fighting horribly. So much that my head is still hurting! The fought about the stupidest things. Lauren was angry that Ryan got more dental floss than she did. They were telling each other that they were not going to play with each other anymore, etc......

Surprisingly, I got them upstairs and getting ready for bed with less arguing. After bedtime ritual was done, I read to Ryan, it was Lauren's turn. Of course, Ryan got out of bed. He wanted to go downstairs to get something. In order for him to do so, he had to tell me what he wanted to go downstairs to get. He wanted his prize from the dentist. I told him fine, but to hurry up. He came up about 5 minutes later, not with his toy, but with Lauren's American girl doll and said, "Lauren, look what you forgot downstairs." He was holding her so cautiously, it was so precious. It was one of those moments, were as a mother I felt so proud. That they are actually learning the good principles and morals that I am teaching them, even though they do fight like cats and dogs.

So often, we look at what people are doing wrong, and point it out. We really need to take a step back and acknowledge what they are doing right as well, if not more so. Lauren told Ryan, "Thank you Ryan, that was very thoughful of you." I smiled both inside and out!

Gas~the kind you have to buy.....

This morning Lauren & Ryan missed the bus because it came early. I was irritated that I had to drive them to school, and Lauren looked at the bright side, and said, "Well at least gas is only $2.25 a gallon mom". She always looks at the brightside of a situation. This is a lesson she is teaching me. No matter what life hands you, something positive can come out of it. You may see it right away, or down the road, but it is there.

Kid Politics

This morning Erika, Olivia, and Lauren had a discussion about who they would vote for if they could vote.

Olivia: I would vote for McCain.
Lauren: I would vote for Obama.
Erika: My school is having a mock election.
Me: Who would you vote for Erika?
E: I would vote for Obama.
O: I would vote for McCain.
Me: (to all 3): Why would you vote for who you choose?
E: Because he wants to end the war and bring people home.
L: Yeah, I want the war to end too.
L: I also heard on the radio that some people can't afford McCain.
E: Yeah, I heard that too.

I walked away laughing.....

Just like her father.....

Just like Ryan, Lauren never ceases to amaze me. Although hers is having the best memory ever! She obviously gets it from her father. I have the best memory remember things that have already happened, but Jeff & Lauren have the best memory in regards to doing things. Lauren's teacher sends a letter home every Friday with what is going on the following week. In the letter, she was supposed to bring an apple for Johnny Appleseed day today, and she was also supposed to bring something in to share today because she was one of today reporters. PLUS, today was library day, so she had to take her library back to school.

This morning, I was still in bed and Jeff & I heard her already up and fumbling around downstairs with her backpack. When I came downstairs, she said, "don't worry about packing me a snack mommy, I already took care of it because I needed to take an apple today." I said, "oh yeah, good thing you remembered, cuz I forgot". I then went to put her night book in her backback and she had also remembered to pack her show and tell, AND her library book. WOW, and to think I didn't remember any of it. She is so AWESOME!!!!!

Ryan enjoys looking after his little cousin, probably more so because his sister and the older cousins love to pick on him. This way he can be the leader and nurturer!

Oh goodness, look at the exactness of some of those blocks. He sure is Jeff's son! This is the garage for his jeep, that by the way he never plays with outside.

Mexico Baby!

Well, in 4 1/2 days, I will be one of the little people in those chairs on the beach. All of my hard work and family's patience has paid off and I graduated last night (After 4 long years). Of course I still have to take Spanish this summer, but as far as I'm concerned that is a no brainer in comparison to having to analyze all sorts of Social Work theories, methods, and such.

Jeff & I will be flying solo next week when we head of to the Grand Riviera Maya Priness for 5 whole nights! Even though it still hasn't hit me that the end is finally here, I am excited to get away and finally spend some much needed quality time with Jeff. I still can't believe that I am actually going. Jeff & I haven't been anywhere since Vegas 4 years ago before I started school. WOW!!!!!
